Mookaite is a new love of mine. I love stones that have color variety. Mookaite comes in rich, warm tones like red yellow and orange. I think it’s a gorgeous stone for fall, so of course, I had to make some earrings from my monochrome collection with it! Though in mookaite’s case, it’s more monostone!
This pair of earrings were created in sterling silver. I paired 9x10mm, art-deco-cut, yellow mookaite with 7.5x8.5mm, art-deco-cut, burgundy mookaite. Hanging from that is gorgeous 6.5mm, smooth, round mookaite, and then finishing off the earring is 4mm, burgundy and yellow, faceted, round mookaite. It was so difficult to photograph the beautiful swirls of color in these stones. They’re amazing.
The earwires on these earrings are 20 gauge oxidized sterling silver. Each earring is 2.75” long and weighs 3.12g.
