Labradorite has long been said to carry the fire of the northern lights, a stone of mystery and transformation that reveals flashes of hidden color depending on how the light strikes it. I chose faceted half moon labradorite for the base of these earrings, giving them a striking flash that shifts between shadow and brilliance.
Above, I wrapped 3–4mm faceted apatite, a gem often associated with clarity and imagination, paired with 3mm faceted pyrite, historically called “fool’s gold” but also regarded as a talisman of strength and abundance. Together, these stones carry a legacy of vision and resilience, echoing folklore that speaks of guidance through uncertainty and the spark of inner fire.
The stones are set on oxidized copper with 20 gauge earwires, giving them a warm, antique finish. Each earring measures 2 ¼” long and weighs 4.04 grams—light enough for comfortable wear, yet substantial enough to catch the eye with every turn of the head.
